Planning Information​

While this information is included in the Ordinances and Titles section, we have listed it separately here for ease of access.  
​If you are planning on building, this is the information you'll need. 

Building Permit Requirements

Per the Basin Town Title 8, ​Building Permits must be requested for alterations over $200. Specifically:
 
8-3-2: PERMIT REQUIRED; EXCEPTION:
Before proceeding with the erection, enlargement, alteration, repair or removal of any building which lies within the corporate limits of the town and which lies outside the town as heretofore established, a permit for such erection, enlargement, alteration, repair or removal shall first be obtained by the owner or his agent from the town council; except that permit shall not be required for the alteration of any building within said territory when such alteration shall not cost to exceed two hundred dollars ($200.00) and it shall be unlawful to proceed with the erection, enlargement, alteration, repair or removal of any building or any structural part hereof situated as aforesaid unless such permit shall first have been obtained. (Ord 632, 12-8-2014; 2003 Code, amd. Ord. 254, 6-5-1939)
 
8-3-3: APPLICATION:
Application for such permit shall be made by the owner or his agent, in writing, upon blanks to be furnished by the building inspector. Such application shall show the number of rooms, description, size, and cost of the building to be erected, enlarged, or altered, repaired or removed, and which shall give the description of the lots or plots of ground upon which such building is to be erected and the distance of the erection or improvement from both front and side streets. 8-6-4 FEE
The Owner of his or her agent shall, upon making application for a permit for any construction, erection, or removal, tender to the town clerk-treasurer the sum of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) with each such application. Such money shall be retained by the town if permit is granted.  See also Section 9-2-7 (Ord. 632, 12-8-2014; Ord. 611, 5-8-2012, 2003 Code, Ord 254,6-5-1939)

 CONTRACTORS REGISTRATION: Passed 3/8/2018-

Forms need to be submitted to the Town Clerk no later than the First Wednesday of each month for consideration by the Council at the Regular Council Meeting.

TOWN OF BASIN MASTER PLAN

In 2010, the Town applied for a Community Development Block Grant through the Wyoming Business Council to complete an update to the existing Town Master Plan. Here you can view all of the information resulting from that effort, starting with reading about this Process.
